250g Ground Beef Burger w/ cheese and a side of fries |
Situated on Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton; The Big Mouth Sushi and Grill opened in 2015 and is amongst one of the more popular and consistent restaurants around; taking influences from around the globe regarding their design; from the exterior to the interior of the establishment which was well put together by decorative creatives.
It is clear that The Big Mouth has combined their love for gourmet dishes with the ever growing need for artistry and have come up with such a contemporary spin on a classic yet classy diner.
They are famous for their world renowned Josper grill which adds a depth of flavour to their dishes with a distinctive "char", bringing forth similar characteristics to that of an old fashioned barbeque.
My first appearance at this restaurant occurred before my food blogging journey began, where I tasted deep fried Oreos for the first time, served with a drizzle of butterscotch sauce and a glass of vanilla milk to compliment the sweetness of the dessert. I was impressed to find that their menu items stem from a variety of influences and have not stuck to a single country of origin and even though I am not a fan of raw fish myself, their sushi menu is so extensive that it literally takes up half of their menu!
I can honestly say that their burgers are one of the top 3 burgers I've had in SA, super juicy and massive, 250g massive to be exact, served with a side of fries and cooked to perfection but whatever it may be that you find pleasing, you are sure to find something to suit your seasoned tastebuds, whether it's a salad that excites you or even a taco, but what you'll probably remember the most is how well led the staff team is, oh and also how you get a serving of caramel popcorn when your bill comes to your table!
Come with an appetite, you're going to need it.
